Tom and I started our own food program, because of the fear that children were going hungry in our own community. We had seen the amount of families needing food while helping at a local food program that soon closed. We knew we needed to do something to continue feeding those families that would soon be without.
We had to figure out a way to get food, so we became a non-profit. This allows us the ability to receive donated products and buy from a food bank. We also look for sales at grocery stores.
This program helps families that do not have the means to buy food or need to make their dollar stretch. With the help of the community we have fed over 36,000 people!
Our Program allows others to join in and help. Here is how you can be a part of our ministry:
- Donate $25. Each $25 donation allows us to hand a basket of food to a family. You too can feel the appreciation of feeding a family.
- Donate clothing. We are putting together a drive to help provide shoes for children before July.
- Join Infusion's Food Gathering Team. We are putting together a team that can pick up food donations from grocery stores all over San Diego County. This will help our stock of food increase, allowing us to continue in this vital ministry. You can sign up for this on The Card at the weekend service.
NO CHILD SHALL GO WITHOUT! Is the slogan. Hope Food Inc. thanks all the families that have donated and continue to donate to this ministry, to make sure children do not go hungry right here at home.
