Acts 2:42-47 - 42 And they devoted themselves to the apostles' teaching and the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and the prayers. 43 And awe came upon every soul, and many wonders and signs were being done through the apostles. 44 And all who believed were together and had all things in common. 45 And they were selling their possessions and belongings and distributing the proceeds to all, as any had need. 46 And day by day, attending the temple together and breaking bread in their homes, they received their food with glad and generous hearts, 47 praising God and having favor with all the people. And the Lord added to their number day by day those who were being saved.
We dream of all people involved in a home group that is not only sharing life and meals together, but they do so with the purpose of showing hospitality to their neighborhoods. This means that our groups will not merely meet for the purpose of meeting, but for the purpose of mission. The goal we share with our sister churches is enable 600,000 followers of Jesus committing to & loving 5 SoCal neighbors unconditionally (Jesus style) for a minimum of 12 months. Because these groups will be focused on hospitality in neighborhoods, they will have a strong missional purpose. The hope is the world will see our love for them and one another, and this will attract them to the Gospel and give us opportunities to share Jesus with them.
