what to expect

When you come to our 10:30 service, you can expect...

Authentic Community

Our church is a community, a family of sorts. We are mothers, fathers, students, firefighters, teachers, grandparents, businessmen, housemakers, photographers, musicians, government workers, etc... In other words, we are all different "normal" people who are bound together by a common love for Jesus.

We are not a rigid, rule-bound church that requires you to act, dress, and talk a certain way in order to fit in. All people are welcome no matter of their race, background, orientation, or place in life and spiritual journey. Nobody is "too bad" to become a part of Infusion Church. In fact, we believe that we all are pretty messed up and it is only because of Jesus that we can become whole again and be right with God.

Authentic Music

We think services should not be boring. Our music reflects the fact that Sundays, generally speaking, are a celebration of what God is doing/has done and an anticipation of what He is about to do. We hope the music engages people to recognize and thank God for who he is and what he's done.

Authentic Message

The gospel is what we are focused on. This is the message that while sin has corrupted us and the world around us, God is good and is redeeming that world and our hearts through faith in Jesus. The gospel is simple enough that the youngest or dumbest person can understand it, but it is also complex enough that the most mature or astute never outgrows or exhausts it.

Our messages will typically be about 30-45 min. long and will cause you to take an honest assessment of your life, but also will practically give you biblical teaching as how God can continue to make you whole and use you as an instrument in infusing his love into the world to change it. Most of the time, we'll choose a book of the Bible and walk through it verse-by-verse.  Also, we will try to use language that is familiar to ordinary people (after all, nobody uses words like Thou, thee, hither, thine, etc. anymore). If we have to use big college words, we'll explain 'em. In other words, our messages will not be watered down or merely feel good, but they will rather be fiercely biblical, gospel-centered, practical, and meaningful in nature.

Other notes about our services...

During our services and as you arrive, you'll see and hear a lot about our groups. This is because we are a church of groups, not a church with groups. We desire everybody to experience the joy of being in community with others who are pursuing Jesus. They are not only a great way to grow in your spiritual journey, and a wonderful way to be a part of a community, but they are the primary way we accomplish our mission in North County. All of our groups are committed not only to learning scripture and "doing life together," but also to serving our neighborhoods and pushing out the darkness in our city together. You'll hear a lot about groups because they do what the church should be doing and what every person has been created to do!

We'll take communion most Sundays, but it is not supposed to be freaky. This is a meaningful ritual that has been a part of the church ever since Jesus instituted it. During communion, the Christian family drinks grapejuice (or wine) representing Christ's blood, and we eat bread which represents his body, so that we can remember the sacrifice he made, the fact that we are made whole and unified through his sacrifice on the cross, and that he will come again to completely restore all things!

We take an offering at our services, but we won't beg for your money. Many people see the necessity of giving not only as a way to support the work God is doing in and through Infusion, but also as a way to practically and sacrificially demonstrate that Jesus, not the things of this world, are what really matter. Through your gifts and offerings, not only are we able to operate as a church, but we are most importantly able to give to the poor, plant more churches, and continue the work of seeing the Gospel impact our lives and culture in a really good way. There is no better way to give than through a gospel-centered church that has a desire to make a difference in the lives of people in your community.
