Hope Foods Newsletter - January 2009

www.hopefoodinc.org   January 2009  Newsletter #1

“Taking the five loaves and the two fish and looking up to heaven, he gave thanks and broke the loaves . Then  he gave them to the disciples, and the disciples gave them to the people.”

Dear Friends,

Welcome to Hope Food ! This is our first newsletter, and we would like to start off by telling you a little bit about ourselves and our program. My wife, and I started this program about two and a half years ago. Our goal is to help feed people, just like Jesus fed the five thousand. We are a registered 501c3 non-profit organization. We are here to help families struggling to put food on their table by offering a low cost food package to those who are willing to participate. There are no qualifications to this program. Everyone is welcome. We ask a $26.00 donation for this food package. Your donation goes to the purchasing of the foods provided, and the overhead costs to keep this program going. You may also purchase a half-package for $13.00. Your food package will consist of the following:  Meats, eggs, milk, vegetables, dry and canned goods, breads, and pastries. If we are to combat hunger, and if we are to conquer a problem that has plagued us for many years, we must fix this problem ourselves.. Together we can.

Sincerely,

Tom and Roxann Cruz & Bambi Gallagher

Many Thanks

This program would not be possible if it were not for the generous donors, and volunteers. Many thanks to the following: Vons, Trader Joes, Henrys, Jumbo’s, Lee & Shirley Taylor, Infusion Church, and Sprouts, Ups & Downs Skating Rink.

And to our volunteers: Janet, Lynn, Tara, Jeff & Lois, Doc, Eddie, Eddie Sr, Danielle , Ken, Bill, Keith, Chantil, and Harris and Ms Katy, Ms Liz.  Without your tireless efforts, I don’t know how we would make it.

Opinion

“There is one body and one Spirit-just as you were called to one hope when you were called-one Lord, one faith, one baptism; one God and Father of all, who is over all and through all and in all.

In the above scripture the word one is mentioned six times. Looking at the churches of today you wouldn’t think so. There is no “one”. It pains my heart to see the body of Christ go in so many directions. With all of our differences it is understandable why people will not seek God. I vowed to God that I would no longer pass judgement  on a brother or a sister, but would accept them for who they truly are, brothers and sisters. The fulfillment of all things is “love.” If we seek to love everyone in the body of Christ, then and only then will God unite us all.  Let us be one, and support whatever ministry brothers and sisters of Christ have set out to accomplish. “If God is for us, who could be against us ? “
