Family

John Alwood is the lead pastor of Infusion Church. He and his wife, Carol, have been happily married for over 15 years, and they have two daughters, Lillian & Trinity. Carol and John met on the changing table when they were babies and were good friends through school. In college, they began dating “seriously” and finally were married at age 21 in their home town of Bellingham, WA.

Calling

John has always believed the Gospel about Jesus is the only hope for the world. Driven by that belief, and following his life-long desire to see the church reformed in becoming relevant and active in today's world, he began planting churches ten years ago. These churches have seen God bring hundreds to faith in Christ, and many people have committed their lives to serving Jesus in vocational ministry. John has also helped train, assess, and coach other church planters.

Credentials/Experience

John is commissioned by the Reformed Church in America, is a member of the Acts 29 Network, holds a B.A. in Biblical Studies from Trinity Western U., and an M.A. in Theological Studies from Bethel Seminary. John has been a member of the Acts 29 Network since 2004 and has been involved in planting ministries since 1996. During his planting ministry, he has had the opportunity to work with several groups including the Alliance, Baptist General Conference, Lutheran Church-MO Synod, Church of God-Andersen, Northwest Church Planting, the North Shore Network, and the Reformed Church in America.

Personal

In his spare time, he loves to spend time with his wife and girls, make music, swim, surf, play baseball in a local hardball league, cultivate his yard, and enjoy fine food and drink with friends. John is also an avid baseball fan and member of an advisory panel for MLB.com.
